PECO vs HEPA: Different Jobs, Different Claims

Understand the difference between physical particle filtration and Molekule’s PECO technology, plus why modern systems may combine approaches.

The core concept

HEPA and PECO are not identical technologies. HEPA physically captures particles; Molekule describes PECO as a light-activated process aimed at organic pollutants. Its current filters combine HEPA, carbon and PECO rather than asking one stage to do every job.

Technology is only half the equation

A purifier also needs enough airflow for the room. For particle cleaning, standardized metrics such as CADR are easier to compare than broad marketing language. For gases, evaluate the dedicated gas-removal stage because particle metrics do not measure gas performance.

How this relates to Molekule
